Finally my basic stereo setup is beginning to get in shape :yahoo::yahoo:

Currently:
1.) Source: Foobar2000 with WASAPI Drivers on my old Toshiba Laptop
2.) Amplifier: Topping TP20
3.) MX stereo RCA cable
4.) MX gauge 14 speaker connect wires
5.) SOL republic tracks HD

Next Steps:
1.) A decently priced DAC like hifimediy sabre U2 USB dac
2.) Headphone amplifier
3.) Speaker stands
4.) Better interconnects

Experts please provide suggestions ?

Thanks.. Those r old philips speakers over 30 yrs.. Which i had tried to recondition with some local speakers.. They dont have any cross over so they dont sound great.. Treble is high..

I am very happy to see that small little amp is able to power S30's so well.

Vocals are very clear and bass is adequate for a mid sized room.

For some of the tracks i feel i need to increase volume close to 80%.

Overall i am very happy with the setup.. :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
All my friends who have heard the setup have said it sounds awesome.

Congrats! In your budget you may want to try the Tono Systems - speaker stands. S30 you got from US?

Will Tono system stands. Any idea how much they cost ?

My S30 i had bought on technoguru.in. But now they are out of stock.
I had purchased about 2 months back.

Earlier Tono systems where selling their products as part of our forum. Now i suppose they have opted out. The floor standers were retailing for Rs 4000-4500 or so. (This is the speaker stand iam referring to http://www.yadsi.in/home-furniture/tono-systems-steel-bookshelf-speaker-stands-r3181483.html ). Don't remember exact amount. See the link below.

Tono HF-B101 - Bookshelf Speaker Stands | India

This will surely not be the price of Rs 4500 but more. You may want to check with them (referring our forum) and find out if they have any in your budget. If you want, let me fish out the contact person (if i have it) of tono systems.
