Fist of all I would like to thank people , who have contributed to get me the YAMAHA A-S2000 amplifier.
FM Denon who initially indicated for this model
JAI1611 , who had the personal experience of this amp with his dynaaudios-- when I asked him to suggest between parasound A23 and Yamaha amp, as I already had 2 preamplifier, so was inclined towards parasound power amplifier, his response was-sell those preamps and get the Yamaha
So what proof needed after this.
And finally nail on the head action was done by Mr REUBENSM. He drove all the way from one end of Trivendrum to other
to check the amplifier, whether it is in mint condition(DEMO piece) as claimed by seller. As he confirmed , deal was struck.

I did not know after spending so little time on this forum ,I would be greeted and helped by people with much enthusiasm.
Really I am grateful to them.

My speakers are PSB Synchrony Two Floorstandars with 4ohm impedance rating and my amplifier NAD 375 BEE was not doing justice with them though rated at 150WPC. Only with higher volume it was throwing some high class content.

Later I decided to do some experiments with preamps (PASS B1 & IFI-ITUBE) and got some good results but the high current requirements
from speakers were still missing.

Now comes in picture , the much acclaimed -affordable high end amplifier YAMAHA A-S2000
and it changed the whole scene-
It has shown the finesse which I heard in Germany with AVM amp & PMC speaker combination.

This amp deserve serious speakers to show its brilliance.

The Synchrony Twos are outstanding speakers that convey every dot, tittle and nuance the A-S2000 is able to wring out of the music.
Lesser speakers simply will not reveal the sonic prowess the A-S2000 is capable of so if you buy this amp, be sure to pair it with truly high-end full range speakers.
The A-S2000 is worthy of such company. I would not recommend speakers that are inefficient though. A quality of the A-S2000 that especially shines is its ability to
render accurate bass which is spot on authentic, detailed and powerful without a hint of tubbiness or exaggeration- even when you turn it up high. As a matter of
fact, while I was running the A-S2000 through its paces, I never perceived any lack of power, on the contrary, I found the Yamaha to seem at ease and effortless in producing a full powerful musical presentation which only gets better as the volume goes higher. This I feel is a very special attribute that distinguishes the
A-S2000 from most other high-end amps, this uncanny ability to sound excellent at low listening levels as well as when the volume is loud. Again,
I can only surmise that this must be the result of Yamaha's revolutionary fully balanced circuitry design. I found myself scratching my head and
saying "There is NO way this is a 90 WPC RMS amplifier!"

It must be obvious by now that I am extremely pleased and impressed with this gem of an integrated amp. The synergy of the A-S2000 through the PSB Synchrony two
speakers has proved to be the best I have personally ever heard. For the money spent, you just cannot go wrong with the Yamaha A-S2000 and I give it my highest
recommendation.
I have TT supplied by FM shafic and my vinyl journey started with the amazing phono input Yamaha has. And My family was astonished when first vinyl I played.
Thanks Shafic. I am adding this line after seeing your comment, forgot about the amazing TT completely ,My Mistake.

If requested pictures will follow soon.since set-up is in living room so after much trial and error sweet spot has been found but there is very little chance
of improvement now. If suggestions given in this regard then I will post in wanted section -wanted house with dedicated listening room :)
anyway my future upgrade is going in that direction only with the same setup what i have today.

Yes pictures requested :eek:hyeah:

Congrats on your setup! :clapping: I've not heard Synchrony Two but had some experience with Synchrony One and what I could figure out was that they are too bloody amazing...super-versatile speakers. Yammy AS2000 is a truely special amp...I'm currently running one on loan from a friend with my SHL5 and man! can it sing!!! :licklips:

Congratulations, Dheeraj! Great to know that you have found what you had wanted. I have also recently begun my musical journey with Yamaha, but with an entry-level model. Hope, my listening gets mature enough soon to appreciate the finesse that the A-S2000 exudes. Happy listening!

Many congratulations Dheerajin. Can feel your excitement through your post. Hope to hear the setup sometimes. Have a great time.

Hi dheerajin,

congrats on your purchase. If possible try and use the xlr inputs on the AS 2000, there is a substantial difference in the finer details. In my case a power conditioner (Audire Zephyr) also made things better.

Enjoy the AS sound..... it is a special amp...

Sorry should have checked

The AS 2000 with xlr connections is really something. I know because for the first 8 months I used RCA and then one day changed to XLR. The same music became much much better.

I also love its phono section though have not checked out the MC yet, plan to do that soon.

Enjoy your system and hope it gives you a great deal of pleasure.

very nice dheeraj.. wish you many hours of musical bliss.

Paul Barton is as experienced and reputed an speaker designer as any in this line.

The Synchrony are from the higher range and they produce good sound.

The PSB's are quite under-rated as stereo speakers and yes folks do think NAD is the best match but many times that is not the case. One of the better standmounts i have heard from the PSB stable is the PSB Platinum M2.. at Lakozy in Mumbai and boy.. that was that something nice :))

Handsomely built and will add to any decor.

I wonder if it is still available.. maybe someone can get lucky..

yesss.. audio porn requested..

AFAIK, the XLRs in AS2000 are configured to match with the CDP, which is why you maybe getting better results compared to RCAs...with other equipment, you may need to use an attenuater to match...

Pics are attached-
I would like to add one more thing here-
I dont have any affinity towards PSB, what I love is synchrony technology.
Bass appears as if coming from 15 inch driver, and midrange from center speaker. Listener has to ensure that subwoofer and center speakers are not hidden. From such a small enclosure , emanating big sound surprises.
Not for buying but one has to listen to these speakers to get the idea, how different are these from other speakers. If you can believe my experience, for such a full range speakers with the quality of sound-stage one need to spend twice as much. It is just my experience YMMV.

Very nice set up Dheerajin. Congrats. I have never heard the Synchrony but have owned its earlier predecessor the Strata in the mid 90s. In mid 2000s i believe the Stratas got upgraded to the Synchrony. I really enjoyed the Stratas when i had them.

Congrats, dheerajin! Very nice setup there. I'm glad you found something that you're completely happy with. I'm told the CD 2000 CDP (twin of this amp) makes great music with it.

@hydra..absolutely true for CD2000..for that time when it was introduced...now better DACs are available in the market..so..performance is even better now..anyway DACs only with balanced connections can beat the CD2000...and as you know CD player consists of playing mechanism and DAC..so a better DAC with balanced connections is needed..

Congrats dheeraj on the as2000 amp.I have this amp since 2 years and it is great. But this amp is very sensitive to voltage fluctuations and will go into protect mode if very low or high voltage comes so be sure to use a very good voltage regulator with it. I am using APC 1500bg back ups pro ups with this. Hope u have some good voltage regulator or servo otherwise get it asap and protect your amp
