Need help from Gurus about audio ,video ,5,1 and 7.1

Dear All,

I need some explanation on audio ,video ,5.1 and 7.1 don't have much knowledge on the home theater ,your inputs highly appreciated.as i have plans to buy high end 7.1 HT-S 9300 ONKYO IN near future once its available in India.


1.If i buy a 5.1 or 7.1 home theater in box ,how it will affect my audio and video play ,can i get 5.1 from an normal mp3 audio file or any receiver can upscale the audio also or what ever the source i have will get depending on the number of channel.

2.and about video movie on normal DVD or CD player can be up scaled both audio and video by any receiver or only video will be up-scaled.

3.What does it really means to eys and ears in simple way to understand ,when you say Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master AudioT, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD High-Resolution AudioT Decoding when you are watching a movie or listening a audio


Gurus are requested to give some inputs on above.
