New 5.1 speakers for new bluray player

Hi,
I plan to buy a new bluray player and new 5.1 speaker and connect them. When choosing 5.1 speaker, I have the following questions:
1. How to buy 5.1 speaker suitable for bluray player. Do we need to see technical details matching the both fully. I think it will affect speaker if its not matching.
2. I am in chennai. I need the best 5.1 speaker for hearing music and movies. I have Sony home theatre at present which gives only noise and not pure music for songs.
3. Best brands below 20k which can be THX certified or not. Not a problem..Lesser price will be ok for me. Where can we get in chennai
4. I am interested in buying Z906-Logitech 5.1. Will it give Home theatre effect for a medium sized Hall compare to Sony home theatre. It looks small..That'y I am asking.
I am not aware of more technical details. So kindly help me

Most blu-ray players have no 5.1 analog out, so you cant use those cheap 5.1 speakers with analog input only. BDPs use hdmi and spdif for surround out. So your speaker system should also have hdmi in or spdif in if you want surround sound. The logitech Z906 has spdif inputs so it can decode dts and dolby digital sound. But if you can up your budget then get an htib like Onkyo 3500/3400, Yamaha 296 or Denon 1312XP. All these have AVRs which support 4 hdmi inputs and spdif inputs. Price should be around 25-30K. You will need a bdp also.
