Hello Friends,
Has any of you heard the Onkyo HT 580 5.1 system?

It seems to be an very old system with no HDMI.
Is it worth considering? What should be right price for it?

I am actually looking for an used HTiB around 15k range hence the query.

BTW what is the best price for onkyo 3400 (in Pune?) Also for 3500.
How much will an mildly used one cost?

If anyone has a good HTiB and upgrading/selling do let me know. Thanks!

Seeking Gyan from HT gurus! :)

(P.S: Since it will be used in living room and connected to tata sky want something basic and not a component system. Components would be an overkill IMHO)

And it also boasts Burr brown DACs.
Only caveat is that inbuilt decoders for Dolby TruHD, and DTS MasterHD are not present, which is not a problem as the source can be made to decode and stream PCM.

Thanks guyz!

BTW What should be best price for Onkyo 3400/3500?

Also for an older system like the Onkyo HT D580 what should be reasonable pricing? (JFYI..)

Since we are at it. what would a basic component system look like. Is something in 30k possible.

Thanks again!
Cheers!

(PS: I already have dedicated sterio but dont want to mix both as they are in different rooms. this is for living room)

of course possible but step by step...
get a 20k/22k avr like denon 1311....get sonodyne bookshelves/used bs/polk....within 10k...and wait.
later get centre,sub and rears....
however without centre wo maza nahi ayega...for tatasky hd etc..
so can buy centre and 2 bs...

or avr and a centre only....not that bad for movie only purpose...may seem only one speaker!!..what will it do...
