Partitioned external hard disk

I am planning to partition my external hard disk- One partition NTFS formatted for large video files to be played on samsung smart tv or sony bravia, second partition FAT partitioned for audio files to be played on Onkyo receiver thru USB port. Will it work? Has any body tried it?

It should work on most TVs.

Samsung series 5 LED Smart TV does recognize more than one partitions (so long as they are Windows recognizable). So I can confirm this for this specific model. Other models should support as well.

Thanks Ranjeetrain. Have you tried 2 partitions with different formats? My onkyo receiver does not recognise NTFS. Hence the workaround of two partitions.
