Somewhere I read that while integrating a sub with a 2.0 system, "you must not realize that the sub is playing but when it is removed, you should feel that something is missing". This is almost how I felt when I blocked the port of my velodyne sub with some stuffing. It is not same as reducing the volume but it tames the lows and makes it much tighter helping in better integration with the 2.0 system. I understand that it is not the way the sub is designed for (port tuning goes for a toss?) and I might be damaging the unit if driven hard. So I am not likely to leave it that way all the time, but the way it gels with 2.0 (despite the depth being compromised) and provides the needed extension bit more accurately was something worth the experiment.
