I bought a branded Logicstat step-down transformer with an isolated supply from Nehru Place - the 1 KVA costs Rs. 5000 and 0.5 KVA 3200 with 1 yr warranty. I think the 1.5 KVA was around 7200 or 8000. I bought the 1 KVA one.
Its running well with a Denon 1712 that I got from US. There is no sound even if I put my ear next to it, and neither is any noticable heat generating from it - considering I have it in a wodden cabinet.
