Every birthday I end up buying RC toys for my kids and I bought a RC toy for my elder kid. This is a cheap chinese toy and the battery lasted only about 15 to 20 min. The worst part is the recharge time which is 5 to 6 hours!

What I did was the re-purpose an old power bank as a power source! The good thing with these toys is that the voltage required is DC 4.8V and the powerbank has DC 5.0V with is in the same range. What you need is a USB cable, 5000mah power bank and bit of patience. Just cut out the cable to the required size and make sure you connect the red wire and black wire to the toy's red wire and black wire.

So I opened up the device to see if the power bank can be placed some where and I was happy to note that there are lots of empty spaces where power bank can be placed. I placed it in such a way that we could see the charge and also recharge it like any normal power bank.

I am happy that this came quite neat and my son seems to enjoy the lockdown a bit more.
