Last friday without any planning I did two purchases.
1. PS3 360 GB (considering its blu-ray capability)
2. Onkyo 3300S HTIB
After connecting the both I realized the overlapping or underused features of both.
1. PS3 decode the TRUE-HD and DTSHD then send it as a PCM to Onkyo making AV Receiver just dumb Receiver. If I change PS3 to bitstream Onkyo decode the compressed Audio but in turn underuse the capability of decoder in PS3.
Considering above facts, I would like to get a recommendation from you guys on the ideal DVD player I can compliment to this setup. I prefer to have a DVD player with USB which provide bitstream output and leave the AV receiver to process and decode it.
I have DVDs from different countries therefore prefer to have a REGION FREE Player.
