Hi,

I have an old Onkyo HTIB (Onkyo HT-S3100 5.1) that I have connected temporarily for listening to music and while this setup sure sounds a lot better than my Creative speakers it does sound "bright" causing ear fatigue (especially for the type of music I listen to which is mainly rock and blues with a screeching guitar).

I have enabled OR-EQ and this does help but at the cost of cutting off the highs.

I am wondering if there is anything else I can do?

I have done a couple of things which have helped (and should help anyone else with a similar situation).

1. Toe out the speakers.
2. Move to a bass heavy or warm music/media player like MusicBee or XMPlay. While I prefer Foobar with WASAPI its a bit bright for the present combo. On the other hand both MusicBee and XMPlay (both run on the BASS audio library) and sound a bit warm.
