Hey all, I stream movies/music from my laptop to my tv/stereo using usb/hdmi.

It would be great if I had a remote control for this.

What are the options for this?

Appreciate the insights.

Depends on what all operations you would like to perform remotely.

I mostly use a Logitech mini keyboard, which is wireless plus has a trackpad. With a bit of searching you can find one around Rs 1000-1500. Something like this. It basically puts your entire laptop keyboard and mousepad in your hand, albeit keys are a tad too small.

You can try an air mouse. The on-screen cursor can be moved by moving the remote. In addition, many such devices also come with a basic keyboard, though trying to use this feature would be much like trying to type messages on a phone during the pre-touchscreen days. :p

Except for powering on the computer I think a wireless keyboard works pretty great... I like the rii ones.. I have two of them.. One plugged to my computer and one to my android box.. I think it's a pretty decent deal.. And for the switching on the. Computer I think there's a wake up on Lan option available.. I'm trying to make it work..
