I recently had to get my Sony HTiB repaired. After diagnosis, Sony service center called me with the details of the parts to be replaced. I asked them the part cost and estimated bill. I was told an amount of Rs. 900 over the part cost. I was shocked and protested that the labour charges is way more than parts and 900 seemed ridicules amount. Then he said he will look into it.
Finally I was charged 550 as labour charge during final billing. Even that seemed little high as I was expecting around 200 ~ 300. But the service center informed me that the service charges are imposed by Sony India itself and it is based on the product serviced.
So I decided to dig up in Sony India website and it turns out, they have put the charges on the website. Here is the link :
