I too don't know how to check the usage hours of my Panasonic LCD P42U30D.

I only find solutions for Panasonic Plasmas and nothing for LCDs :eek: :mad:

So, I just tried the same method used for Plasmas and its worked.
http://www.hifivision.com/television/6512-checklist-avoid-buying-demo-piece-lcd-plasma-tv-14.html

Only thing is used {CHANNEL - } insted of {VOL - } and it worked like a charm...:clapping:

This is the procedure for Panasonic LCD models.

I used the below procedure on my L42U30D and it worked.

1) Goto TV mode
(i.e. if you are in AV (or) PC mode, then change into TV mode)

2) Press and hold the {CHANNEL -} button ON THE LCD TV.
Then press the {INFO} button on the remote control 3 times.

"Start Adjustment Menu" message will be displayed followed
by the Service Menu after few seconds.

ADJUST {Picture Adjustment}
WB-ADJUST {White Balance Adjustment}
OPTION {Option Setting}
V-SUS {V-SUS Adjustment}
AGING
SRV-TOOL {Service Tool}
{1} & {2} buttons move through options

3) Press the {2} button once to select "SRV-TOOL".

4) Then press the {OK} button to access it.

Using the cursor keys, highlight the right side
of the last item "PTCT :00.00.00.00.00" :

Then press and hold the {MUTE} button for 3 seconds.

Time and Count will be displayed in red color:

__TIME = Hours : Minutes of operation.
COUNT = Times the Plasma was powered on.

5) To exit, unplug the power cable.

My LCD has done 2755.30 hours and powered on 350 times...:eek:hyeah:

The pictures are taken from FM mbhangui... Thanks to him...:D:D

This method didnt work for my Panasonic 42inch LCD TH-L42U5D.

Nothing happens at this step in Tv mode
" Press and hold the {CHANNEL -} button ON THE LCD TV.
Then press the {INFO} button on the remote control 3 times."

TV keeps on changing channels due to {CHANNEL -} button

If anybody knows method to check usage hours for L42U5D then please share.

Have you tried few times?

I have also tried a few times before getting it right. Because pressing the {Channel -} button as well as {INFO} button from the remote is a bit difficult.

So, try it out a few times...

You have to keep the {Channel -} button on the TV panel and keep it pressed (do not release). While the above button is pressed, press {INFO} button 3 times. At this point {Channel -} can be released.

Friends, I have tried again several times, but it didn't work. What I was doing is

Pressed {Channel -} button on the LCD TV panel and kept it pressed.
Pressed {INFO} button 3 times.
Released {Channel -} button.

tried other buttons like {Channel +}, {Volume -}, {Volume +} on LCD instead of {Channel -} button, but no success. :(

Have you tried pressing both the buttons continuously??

i.e. both {channel-} and {INFO}
instead of pressing the {INFO} 3 times, please press continuously and try it.

Try volume button instead of channel button and press info 3 times. The E6 works with the vol button.

The E6D works as follows:
1. Switch on the TV. No need to go to TV mode
2. Keep TV set side vol - button pressed and press "info" thrice on remote.
3. You will get the "Start adjustment menu" and then the following screen in a few seconds

Press "2" twice on remote.
You will get this screen

Press "OK" on remote.
