Finally heard the Sonus Faber Sonetto floorstanders today at Audio Nirvana, Delhi today... Excellent sound as I heard them with a Rega Integrated (can't remember model) as well as a Unison Research Hybrid Unico Nuvo tube integrated. I preferred the sound with the Unison Research but then that's me. The mids were crystal clear, crisp and neutral which was surprising as Unison Research is known for a warm tubey sound but I guess the hybrid combines the best of both worlds.. Tracks heard:
1) Signs of Life - Pink Floyd - I had always heard water in the beginning but for the first time heard the oars of a boat as well.. superb.
2) Take Five - George Benson - Chose an average recording just to hear what the speakers can do and it played it much better than my Tannoys...

I heard both the Sonetto 3 as well as the 5 and while 3 was very good, the 5 had a bigger bass driver and therefore preferred stereo on the bigger speakers.. the 3 with a sub sounded lovely but the bigger ones did not need a sub... Have my eyes on the smaller SF sealed sub .. However my hopes of buying were crashed by the stock market today and I will have to come back in 6-9 months with the money...

There are tons of Home Theatre Sonus Faber in wall speakers with in wall sub woofers as well but I did not bother listening as HT is not my area of interest..

Picture of the Unison Research.. I had actually gone looking for a McIntosh Ma 252 or 352 but the Unison Research is a close contender too.. The McIntosh has a huge advantage of the VU meters though..

Heard Roger Waters - The Wall in Dolby Atmos on a 7.2.4 Sonus Faber system in its full glory.. Absolutely smashing... You have to hear and see it to believe it.. Also put on Adele at the Royal Albert Hall as well as The Eagles... Seems like an additional expenditure is looming in the future...
