Hi all, Recently purchased Yamaha A-S500 Amplifier
I have already a pair of speaker
Each Speaker Box contains:
10" Woofer
4" Tweeter
3" Tweeter

Satisfied with Amp, but from one box.. sometimes the Bass seems distorted.. may be due to cone vibrations.
I want to replace my 10" woofers with subwoofers.
As subwoofer has 4 terminals + -, + -.
Can I use this as + (- - Short, or connect with jumper) +, I will connect the Amp output + - terminal wires to + + on subwoofer and - -will short?
Same thing with another box.

I don't want to loose any other low frequencies and need complete Hz.

Please suggest.

Basically both Woofer/Subwoofer that you are referring to are technically called drive units consisting of a magnet, a voice coil, a diaphragm surrounded by a rubber rim for greater linear excursion of the diaphragm.

The drive unit/subwoofer as you call it has 4 connectors 2 marked + and 2 marked -. They are just duplicates as the drive unit has a single voice coil. You can connect either pair to your amplifier. Just connect the positive of your speaker cable to either positive and negative to either negative.

An yes try to post pictures it helps.

If you have got powered subwoofers than the answer will be totally different.

In that case you can use two pairs of speaker wires to the line level inputs of sub woofers.
