Hi to all,

Even after googling, I cannot find Indian film songs that is good in Bass and can be used to test the sub woofer effects. I could get lot of western but not lot worth mentioning in Hindi or Tamil songs. I would request all our FMs to share their knowledge about those songs especially in 90s and also present period songs which has very good bass.

For eg. Ilaiyaraja's songs 1) Pudhiya poovidhu from Film Thendrale ennai thodu (2) Putham pudhu kaalai from Azhaigal Oivadhillai are some of the songs which I could immediately mention about the presence of Bass( guitar).

Regards,

Are you really want to test the woofer sound with Ilayaraja's song? Or you want to listen how is woofer in Ilayaraja's music?

I am no expert, but look at A.R. Rahman songs.
For one, sometime after 4 min into Chhaiyya Chaiyya was recommended somewhere

Ideally speaking, unless you are looking into electronic music, the sub-woofer frequencies are pretty weak in normal music (below 40-50Hz).

What you are looking out for is tracks using synthesizer bass. (like hip hop and house music).

Ok. It is not for literally to test the sub woofer but to enjoy those (melodies)songs with good bass either with a sub woofer or from the Front speaker woofer itself. Thing is, in these songs, you can really feel that Bass as well as the Melody in the song. in that way, I really like Pudhiya Poovidhu, puthum pudhu kaali, melliasaiye, enamo yedho ....

Regards

I have 1 TB of Tamils songs.
Most of them are recorders in 320 bits.
Sounds excellent on my Dynaco A 25.

Kanne Kalai mane from moonram pirai
Poongatru from agni natchaththiram....

Of Illaiyaraaja sir, I liked the songs from Movie 'Anjali' especially songs 'Iravu Nilavu' and 'Vegam Vegam'. I like Agni Natchathiram. Songs like Ninnukori and Raajathi Raaja are nice

ok the try all these songs with higher woofer level.

Thendral katre songs from kumba karai thangaya,
Butterfly song from meera,
Nenjam ellam from Ayutha eluthu

Added For woofer test,
title song from vettaiyadu vilayadu

I will update you with more Ilayaraja songs in next reply.

Neruppeh sikki mukki neruppeh from vettaiyadu villaiyaadu and songs from rythm n songs from aayutha ezhuthu all have great bass..

Played after a long time, the CD of KAADHAL PARISU. Listen to the starting of 'Koo Koo endru Kuyil ' for that awesome bass guitar notes

80s and 90s songs never had good bass. Thats who illayaraaja recorded it. Sadly. Good music but listening wise, its just flat. Even ive no idea why they did that. Mostly Indian songs will have very low bass. Doesn't matter its a CD or a Vinyl.

Minnalgal song from Pollathavan
Mustafa Mustafa from Kadhal Desam
O Sona from VTV (how can we forget this song anyone looking for a song with great bass)
Kattrukkulle song from Sarvam
Machakaari from Sillunu oru kadhal
Jeelo zara from Talaash
Taal se Taal mila from Taal
Karka Karka from Vetaiyaadu velaiyaadu

Oh man, there are loads and loads of songs in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi with a deep bass, you just need to dig into the internet. I can list out atleast another 100 to 200 songs more.

Few of my favorites -
1. Nenjam Ellam - Ayuzha Ezuthu
2. Pachai Kiligal - Indian (even other songs from Indian are good for mid-bass but this one is a beast)
3. Dil Tu hi bata - Krrish 3 (this one will tell you if your sub can cope with fast mid bass)
