LG C8 is HDMI v2.0a. Latest version of HDMI is v2.1
There is no HDMI v2.2 yet.
So a cable supporting 18Gbps is the correct way to go for 4K/HDR.

Cheers,
Raghu

Yes raghu, typo mistake, its HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 Support (require for true 4k)

Though HDMI 2.1 is an future upgrade to HDMI 2.0 for 8K/10K Resolutions, useful article
can be read here.

Panasonic UB9000 is the best 4K player in the market currently. The next best was the Pioneer Lx500/LX800.

My blu ray player has died so looking for one as well. What is a good 4k blu ray player around 30k ? If it is an x-box one, what do you lose out as compared to a regular player ?

Get the Sony UBP X700. Stunning for the money.

I am using the Sony UBP x700 for the last 2 years. Very good performance. Plays BD (Atmos/TrueHD), DVD, CD-audio very well. Does not read MP3. Its included Netflix App is excellent - though no Atmos support here. Bought from Sony showroom just short of 30k that time. Using DAC HDMI cable to connect to AVR.
