1. What are the most popular voltages/currents used in DIY amplifier builds? For eg 20 - 0 - 20, 5A. What other combinations are used?

2. Is it possible/feasible to build a single transformer with multiple taps for multiple voltages to be used as a psu for different amp builds?

3. Or is it cheaper to enclose a separate transformer for each build?

4. Or would an adjustable dc power supply unit preferable ?

1. The voltage selection will depend on the amplifier kit selection, Most of the amp will work on 25-0-25 5A .
2. Yes you can get multiple voltage selection in a single transformer as you like

3. In a single build it is good to use a single power transformer and toroidal is the best option for this

4. Adjustable dc power supply is not good for amplifiers it have restriction for the current flow.

Always fix on amplifier design then think about power supply.
