Tube Preamplifier with Nad C352 Power Amplifier

Hi There,

Since my Nad C352 amplifier can be used with an external preamplifier, how will it sound with an external tube preamplifier. Will i get the best of both worlds? Solid sate control and tube sweetness/musicality. Has anyone tried out such a combination? Opinions/suggestions please....

Hi alankar,

I am planning the same set-up for me. I am planning for a DIY Tube pre-amp based on Conrad Johnson PV-10 pre-amp and planning it to combine it with Emotiva mini-X A-100 power amp. As a trial I had taken a Tube pre (Dynaco PAS-3) from our Chennai FM Rajiv, and ran it for a week at my place. Since the Emotiva power is very transparent, the tube signature was well presented. I liked the combo. I will post my impressions of my build after it is over (expected around Jan-15th)

Yes it works well. I have a valve pre that I sometimes pair with a ss power amp and like it.
