I recently got a vintage Akai AM-U04 Amplifier as a gift from a friend.
The volume control of this unit does not work except at full volume. Anywhere in between causes a tremendous amount of ear splitting static.
A local technician who looked at it said that the tracks on the PCB were all worn out and tried to ink it again but that did not work. A replacement could not be found.
The part reads 250K ohms X 2. I do not know if it is linear or logarithmic.
If any member familiar with this amplifier and can recommend an equivalent rotary potentiometer to be connected externally, i would be grateful.
