Hello,

I got my first salary and wanted to give my parents a present and purchased a TV

As mentioned, I need a good 4.1 / 5.1 Speaker system or a HTIB for my Micromax 50K2330UHD (Micromax 50K2330UHD 124 cm Ultra HD LED Smart TV: Amazon.in: Electronics) TV.

The main need to condition is that it should have S/PDIF input option (Coaxial not digital as my TV doesn't have it)

Budget? really can't say as I've shelled in TV purchase, TV setup (to carpenter and miscellaneous repairs at home) since this is a part of present i want it to be complete but not do in pieces after some time..

Location Hyderabad preferred, Bangalore would be good but i will have to rely on friends to get the item to Hyd.

BUYING, SELLING or TRADING indicates your automatic and mandatory acceptance of HiFiVISION.COM Trading Rules and Guidelines!

Do not blindly trust every seller or buyer! Protect yourself by following the below safe trading tips.

Safety Tips

For Buyers

  1. Always meet the seller at a safe location and inspect the item before purchasing. Following this one rule will help you avoid most scams.
  2. Watch out for unrealistic offers. If it appears too good to be true, it probably is. Unrealistic offers are used to motivate purchasers to make hasty decisions.
  3. Always verify the seller's credentials. Ask the seller to provide a photo ID and proof of address.
  4. Ensure that the product you are buying is not stolen or fake. Always ask for a purchase invoice.
  5. The best way to transact is to collect the item and pay at the same time. Never transfer funds or use a debit/credit/atm card to pay someone you do not know before collecting an item.
  6. Ask for clear information on condition of the item, price, payment and delivery method.
  7. Use only those payment methods that you trust and are familiar with. Never give out your financial information.
  8. It is recommended to purchase items directly from the seller.
  9. Always test the functioning of the item before purchase.
  10. Do your research on comparative prices for the product.

For Sellers

  1. Try to take the full payment at the time of the delivery. Remember to use a safe location to meet.
  2. Watch out for fake currency and money orders. Be aware that banks will not honour fake currency/money order and will hold you responsible for it.
  3. Verify the buyer’s credentials if necessary.
  4. Ensure that your product meets the features you list in your ad to avoid any misunderstanding with the buyer.
  5. It is your responsibility to prove that the product you are selling is genuine and not stolen by providing the necessary proof of purchase.
  6. Do not share your financial information except the one required for payment.

Hi Mayur.. I appreciate & value your feelings for your parents.. A gift to parents from 1st salary is very rare now a days.. Keep it up brother.. :clapping:

For speaker/HTiB, you will have to say some budget. Who will be using this? I mean if mainly your parents then has to be very simple.

Hi Mayur,

Excellent gesture to gift something to your parents.....very few think on those terms...

Anyways, depending on the listening area you need to choose the right system which will appeal to you in appearance, performance and budget....

WHy don't you go and audition all available systems and shortlist which interests you...

The For Sale by Owner section or Hi Fi Ads will have something for you.....

All the best...don't rush...

Firstly thanks sachinv@ and efernand1

As said i really don't have a price point to quote and being a newbie to this world with out much knowledge about Audio systems it would be inappropriate for me to quote a price but yes that said im not looking to spend beyond 10k (if i can't get a HTiB i'll settle with an audio system that has a Digital Analogue input or may even start preparing my own speaker set please guide me to correct place for this DIY)

As of now i'm very much inclined to do a DIY but thinking if i can do it due to time restrictions... again please help me with DIY inputs and technical bits of making a speaker system! :)

For details, we have a room of about 10x15 approx.

in the given budget of 10k, no HTiB.. i will suggest to go with sound bar with a small sub. plenty of option under 10k..visit a dealer (Croma, Reliance Digiital etc.) & take a demo before you buy anything.

Have you taken a look at this Philips HTD5520/94 Home theatre and similar systems? This one supports ARC, so if your TV has the feature, then connect all your sources to the TV and the sound should play through the Philips. Sony too has similar systems.
