Our home gets an electricity bill of Rs.3500 on average; sometimes it peaks to around Rs.5000 (bimonthly ie. Rs.2500 per month). I'm wondering because most of our friends quote way less.

So, what's your power usage bill ?

Rs 8000 per month

Welcome to haryana corruption in gurgaon.

Some people I know here get bills of up to 20,000 Rs.

NCR is the worst cess pool of corruption and failure of public infastructure I've seen in this country.

Good thread, I have been itching to ask people for a few years now!!

Mine averages 450/- p.m. Single person, one fridge always on, not at home 12 hours a day, one fan on 12 to 24 hours, PC on 4 hours on average, 48 hours on weekends.

Cheers

well, bangalore is worse than gurgaon.

I get a bill of about 1500-1700 per month. No A/C, no cooler, no water heater (there is a solar in the apartment), all tube lights and CFLs. The only thing that runs 24 hrs is the fridge and the PC (for downloads etc, not used for gaming, no graphics card). I have recently changed the power supply of the pc to a 80+ supply, hopefully it will make a difference.

400 bucks a month...
310 5star rated fridge 24 hours on.
42 in lcd 10-12 hours a day.
full size desert cooler 12-14 hours a day.
tubelights usha lexus ultra slim..rarely used. mostly cfls
pc for 2+ hours each day.
laptop 20-22 configured as a download machine now to save power.
fans (4) 1used at a time max 7-8 hours a day.

even i m quite happy and surprised by the same in hyd.. i was in a diffrent area few months back in hyd and one room with no cooler and no fridge it used to close to 800 bucks a month..

Rs. 1,36,000/- a month - average for the last six months

but i run -

an illegal ice-factory behind the house-

and also -

an illegal alcohol distillation plant (potatoes)-

from these operations i earn-

an average of Rs. 3,02,000/- a month -

so my average electricity bill is -Rs.1,66,000/- per month

and i was just thinking -

if i add on a soda-making plant -

and a girlie-house to the operations-

i could supply the whole of Kannur with free electricity!

I'm quite pissed off with the haryana electricity situation. Gurgaon does not get power for 12 hours in a day. It's disgusting and pathetic. BEcause even after the city not having power for 12 hours a day the electricity bills are ridiculous.
