I doubt you will get a ready made High Quality Power Cable in India. If you are serious about the Quality, better you DIY or get it from abroad. Here is a link to a well-documented DIY DIY Power Cord .

As a stop gap, a 10M computer cable should do the trick.

If you can get your hands on a original Finolex or RR Kable, they are of very good quality.

Cheers

Absolutely, for DIY all you need is some Finolex/RR Kabel wires and a good quality IEC female connector and plug like in pic below:

If you are sourcing from US/abroad, Hospital grade connectors/plugs will do just fine for your application.

What you can also do is that you buy the 3 Core Power Cable availiable at any Electrical shop which is meant for running Air conditioner and then buy a decent adapter from Nehru Place or the like and complete your cable. Remember to run it in a separate conduit than the Video Cables otherwise it might cause interference as they are not shielded.

@ jitu

when are you going to nehru place to get one for yourself ? Could you also inquire if they have a 10m ? Thanks

@ Santhol

thanks for the link... diy looks very scary, but i wonder if i can get the same parts here in india which that guy is using in the link.

did you mean a 10m computer cable which goes from the back of the pc cpu to a power outlet ?

will that be equal to the quality of power cable which came originally with the projector ?

@ venkat

m looing at their websites and gonna call them to see if they have what i need.... thanks

@ ashish

when you said "separate conduit".. did you mean away from the hdmi cable in a separate mould ?

i just went to a local computer store... he showed me a 5 meter cable. it read "6amp 240v".

my original cable reads "10A 125V 1250W". Would his cable be as good as my cable and power the projector properly ?

When i asked him for 10 m length he said go to nehru place.

My newly accuired ups has a indian 3 pin enrty socket at the back and my projector power cable has american 3 pin.

Also he showed me a american to indian adaptor to put in front of my power cable but it looked made of very cheap plastic and i didn't have the heart to buy it. For cellphones and other things it might be ok but i dont wanna use a crappy one for a projector.

I need to get a good quality american to indian adaptor. Which is a good make ? Is there a High End Electtical shop in Delhi where we may acquire high quality adaptors etc for our precious euipment.

I'm quite surprised that although we have audio video equipment worth many lakhs available in india... it's still difficult to buy a.... "High quality 10 m power cable"

I also needed a 10m power cable for my projector.I ordered it off ebay but quality is super cheap, moreover it is marked as 6A while the original cable is marked as 10A. Any idea if true good quality 10m cables are available even in Nehru Place.
I can also manage with a belkin power strip connected to the ups and use the original cable then.Would that be a better idea?

I was using a lead with a plug very much like the one in your pic yesterday, and, unusually, it was not moulded on...

...So I opened it up and guess what I found!

Actually, it is a rather neat 2-pin -> UK-3-pin permanent adapter, and I wouldn't mind having a few, but have never seen such a thing on sale.

It may be the last vestiges of mother-country patriotism, but I do like the British (also used in Singapore) plug system. However, it must be plugged into a British-style "13-amp" socket: I have had bad experiences with the "international" sockets here, even though MK brand. If not actually British/Singapore origin, it is better to use the Indian 16-amp round-pin system for better grip and better contact

diy looks very scary
Although simple, it comes with an absolute life-and-death safety requirement to know what you are doing. But actually...

... running cables through conduits, over suspended ceilings, under raised floors, etc is, in practice, not very simple. The professionals do it in minutes.

... wiring IEC connectors is my least-favourite electrical job. There is no spare space inside, so the conductors have to be cut/stripped exactly right.

i got some power cable from magma
3 core 1.5mm2
pure Copper OFC

really nice
not too expensive
had dual sheilding too - i think a metal braid armor - so it protected against damage

hes also got some exotic cable from Stuttgart for high end electronics - i think he has them in 1.5m metre lenghts though

Get a simple power cable from a computer shop. You can even have an extension cord made using good wire. None of these will have any degrading effect on picture quality.

What is the point in connecting a very high quality wire for the last 10 meters.
You should be using the same quality wire as used in house wiring.
As VenkatCR has suggested a Finolex cable is the best option. Ensure that the gauge is high enough to support 10 amps. 1.5 sq mm multi strand copper wire will do. A 3 core cable with above guage will be the best option.
The weak areas will be the end 3 pin plugs. They should be of good quality.
Ensure that there is at least 10" gap between your electrical cables and the AV cables.

Hi,

I used this, 15 Meter(made in US), currently i am using it to connect my Projector to power conditioner.

There are other products from same manufacturer(upto 30 Meter), Amazon ships to India but costly, check it out.

Don't buy cheap power cables at least as they tend to heat over long distances. Buy thick ones, mine is 14 AWG.

Amazon.com: US Wire 98050 14/3 50-Foot SJEOW TPE Cold Weather Extension Cord Blue with Lighted Plug: Home Improvement

NOTE : Its an extension cord, check out the plugs first.

Know how many watts you are going to draw and buy the right cable. Buy thicker, but never thinner.
