Hi all,

Has anyone used an American CDP designed to run on a 110volt power source in India, with a 220volts-110volts stepdown transformer? Any difference in the performance?

Uh oh .... many audiophile CDPS use R-Core trafo's by Kitamura Kiden only (not any other r-core: KITAMURA KIDEN CO.,LTD.) to achieve their SQ. Now you want to introduce a cheap low cost local market step-down trafo in the chain ... some dead audiophools will turn in their grave while the one's alive will gather around and chatter like you've climbed a tower and threatening to jump or commit suicide ... :ohyeah:

And this is the Source mind you ...

The CD63 power supply transformer generally has 2 primary taps, one for 220v operation and the other for 110v operation. I am told this is standard. While the 110v tap is used on the American models, the 220v tap is used on the European and Asian models. Some models also come with a external rear switch for accomodating both 220v and 110v options. Can somebody using either the 220v or the 110v models confirm the availability of both taps on the primary of the transformer. I have attached a diagram of the transformer for reference. Thanks in advance.
