I am confused between this two option with rx v 671

1)polk tsi200 and psw110(2 way and a sub)

or

2)yamaha NS 555(3 way..so not going to buy sub)

price will be same...so which will be better choice....for both music and movies

yamaha speakers aren't that great if you indeed compare with polk tsi series. what is the max budget?

Have you listened both the setup?

3 way does not mean it will give more bass than 2 way, and no it can not substitute subwoofer.

I like polk speakers more than yamaha speakers. In the current choice given polk is better option

Listen them before deciding.

You have to add subwoofer with mostly tower speakers to get perfect low frequencies.

Even 2 way works fine with good sub.
With 3 way tower you will have more mids and highs than Low.
You have to add sub with both (Polk and Yamaha)... so if you have more budget then you can go with Yamaha + Sub, or if budget is less... you can consider on Yamaha'a NS-8390 too with Subwoofer.. otherwise Polk is Fine.

Both are good (best as per their price).

It depends on your room size, for 10 X 10, 10 X 12 you should go with bookshelf with Sub.

For large rooms you can use Tower with Sub.

For the room size mentioned by you, better look for good floor standers. If current budget is not sufficient skip the subwoofer and get a good floor stander. Subsequently you can add subwoofer.

From the spec Yamaha NS-8390 looks good. Though I was never happy with any of my earlier auditions with Yamaha Speakers, I have not listened to this specific model. You may need to listen yourself.

Which AVR/Amplifier you will pair this with?
