Currently I use the hdmi from my nuc to output the playback from jriver(tidal bbupnp) to my avr. It sounds really sweet and good IMHO.
I want to play songs via my nuc while I play on ps4. However my avr has just one hdmi output. So I can use one hdmi and one coaxial or rca input while using the hdmi.
Does anyone have any thoughts, practical or theoretically, if the sound from my 3.5mm jack would be as good as the hdmi or will be hollow. I had earlier tried 3.5mm output from my old Lenovo p2 but that was horrible.
