I got an 8 track player for christmas (Panasonic) and I love it so much!!!!!!
Right now I have 4 tapes that sound absolutey georgeous!
1) Whos next - The who
2) Barry Manilow's first album
3) GOLD SOUND - 12 hits from 1961
4) YES - Fragile
I think #4 is the absolute best sounding one!! (Actually a tie between #4 and #1)
I love analogue and the one big difference between cassettes and 8 tracks are: YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU MIGHT BE GETTING ON A CASSETTE!! (On an 8 track,you know its analog material)
I had a cassette of WHOS NEXT (2 actually) and both sounded like thin crap (Like it was digitally sourced) -- THE 8 TRACK SOUNDS FABULOUS!!!! (About as good as my DECCA record of the same album (W/o the surface noise))
Now I have had some 8 tracks that were not done right and sounded bad... But I guess that happens ON ANY ANALOG PLATFORM!!!
Who else here enjoys 8 tracks??
