Hello!
This is something which will gradually grow as things progress. The move may be a bit silly looking at the stupid combinations I may have while the entire setup is being upgraded.
I plan to first replace the phono pre amp for my TT with a YAQIN MS23B (https://www.amazon.com/YAQIN-upgrad...&ie=UTF8&qid=1475223714&sr=8-2&keywords=phono). This may sound stupid but this phono will still be connected to the standard cheap amp (in possession) which is a non tube/valve. Other option for me would be to connect the phono to a set of powered speakers that I own. In the meantime while I have sufficient funds, I'll buy an integrated tube amp so I can use the phono and integrated amp with a set of floor standing passive speakers.
Going back to the YAQIN MS23B - Read that there is a slight hum and users have had to MOD the setup to something like this - http://g4cnh.com/public/Putting 'Life' into the Yaqin MS-22B.pdf
I am not at all confident about getting into such minute details and just in case there is a 'genuine' hum issue with the YAQIN MS23B, I would like to understand the following:
a. How loud is this hum?
b. Any alternate tube phono stages I can look at?
