Affordable but good HDMI cable

Guys, I need to pick up an HDMI cable to connect my PC to my new TV
I went to the Apple showroom, to check out the mini-display port to HDMI connector and it's 1600 bucks. They also had cables from some unknown brand, costing 2K. I refuse to pay so much for an HDMI cable. What are the cheaper, VFM options. Am not a videophile, but wouldn't like something substandard.

Also wanted to know, since I haven't got my free Blu-Ray player yet (BD550), does the player ship with an HDMI cable?

Any ideas?

I have used their RCA connects, but never and video cable.
Any comments anyone?

Chaos, most of the MX ones are 1.8 and 1.5 meters. Can I get anything in the range of 8~10 feet?

I saw MX HDMI cable around 10+ meters at main MX dealer shop(SP Road Bangalore). HDMI 1.4a was written on that.

MX are making long cable since far early.I am using HDMI 1.3b 3 mtre cable for my HTPC.

^Checked it out - why does the features state it for 720p and 1080i only?
Have also checked out a number of cheaper cables on Ebay India. Does buying one of these make any sense?

Have a look at this one. If your TV doesn't support HDMI1.4, then its good enough.

Save some bucks and do not get befooled by those 2500 bucks cables. You won't find any better signal with those expensive cables. For the analog signals, it MIGHT make sense to get hold of expensive cables, but with the digital signals the equation is totally different.

Actually, in the case of HDMI cables it is not. You can very much find lots of affordable, yet good cables.

Good quality 3 meter length HDMI which supports 1080P is only 30 Dirhams ( about 360 rupees) here in Dubai.
You can tell anybody form there working in Dubai to get it for you.
