Akai AM-U33 amp, is it good one

Hello Friends , i found a vintaga Akai AM-U33 Amplifier at a friends place,
i could not get the chance to audition it because he gave away speakers to someone else , i just checked using Headphones, and can only say it is in working condition,

I Quoted 5 K for it , need ur suggestion about this, does anyone used this amp , is it good ?

Hi Tanoj, your talking early 1980s audio here. Akai did dish out some more than decent audio during this point of time, cassette decks, amps, tuners and speakers. My father's friend had a AKAI GXC-39 D cassette deck and I still remember how impressed I was as a 9 year old, listening to it play back its own recording of a Burning Train LP (RD Burman). If its in good shape, not a bad idea to dive, remember, these are general assembly line audio equipment and definitely not audiophile grade. You may need to re-cap and so on, hence the tag of 5k may be a bit heavy. I'd give 2k or 2.5k for it.
