I have a few Bose products like the 901 Series V,AM-5 acoustimass,(in addition to conventional hi-end speakers),wave radio,BT earphone.I cerailny do not hate it.I will add my two pennies regarding Bose.
-As far as the 901 is concerned.Bose works on the principle of LIVE sound and not on specs.Dr Bose had guts to move away from mainstream theories.Initially,I had gone through quite a dissapointment in getting the right sound from them due to placement /amp selection issues. After having ot things right. They have a unique sound signature which gives a LIVE touch and sounds natural. My 901's are of 80's vintage and are still going strong.
-The AM-5 acoustimass excells in seamlless and inconspicous integration in any room, which is a huge like with ladies.(WAF or Wife Acceptibilty Factor).)The clever separation of the sub(and mid) and small speakers manage to deliver a pleasing sound.
I have been to concerts and Bose is quite akin to the live production unlike conventional systems which will give crisper response unlike a live concert.
-The wave radio delivers huge sound and a surprising amount of bass coming out of its small footprint.
In fact, the hi-fi lobby killed it,because Bose was not working on specs and Hi-Fi geeks love them.
