Quite often I am being asked about some technical details on Ambre Roon endpoint. So here I am trying to address few important points.
Clocks
We all know the clocks in a product like Ambre are of paramount importance. That is why the Ambre is using very expensive femto clocks having extremely low jitter specs.
Power supply
Ambre is definitely NOT one of those product that would sound good only with an external linear power supply, because the Ambre already has not ONE but TWO
linear power supplies built into it. One for the pi and one dedicated for the streamer part.
The Pi and streamer have a galvanic separation so data is sent by fast optical devices
All the above makes the Ambre one of the best out there and its evident from many user feedback and forum threads that people have changed from much more expensive room players to Ambre and they are happy about their decision.
