Edit - the tube amps above are not perfect replicas of the original 3-3 or 5-5 Mullard designs but moded versions.

All depends on parts used. Companies uses customized parts like caps. Sound depends on these changes. Diy parts may differ

I have tried the DIY route for amplifiers with solid-state components, in my experience, a focus on clean power supply and hand-picked matched pair mosfets by certain good brands is what made them stand apart, my copies never had that sweet magic that I experienced with the original equipment.
