Micro-reviews of Dali Ikon 6

I had bought a pair of Dali Ikon 6 couple of years ago. I bought it after auditioning everything that was available at that time within INR 1 Lac. Summary of their characteristics:

Extended well defined highs with no trace of sibilance. Lovely crashes of snares and cymbals. Silky smooth mid-range with good justice to male vocals. Pleasant natural mid-bass. Kick drums sound as natural as they could get at prices like those. Natural well defined bass. Easy to drive in terms of amplifier power. Very appreciative of upstream components.

I heard the Dali Zensor 5 ( Around 40K before discount) and I loved them. Excellent detail, incredible highs and very clean bass. They might be a touch on the brighter side of neutral.
They pair very well with Marantz too. Audition for yourself before any decision

I ended up buying Zensor1 with Marantz as it was more suitable to a room my size.

I have Dali mentor 2 book shelf speaker using it on a dedicated stand with biwiring cable. It is highly versatile unlike Atc and B&w book shelf. Just an average power in amp with good quality is enough. Unlike Other high end speakers matching is not so problem. Bass is netural mid is clear Highs are detailed not pin pricking highs mild mellowing. What amazing fact in it is it need not be placed inward just normal placement is enough because its ribbon tweeter spreads its highs extrawide so three dimensional. I like it much.It is best value for money too. I do not have any other dali speaker experience.

i heard dali ikon 6 a while ago, very harsh, couldnt tolerate it for more than a minute, it probably hadnt broken in yet though. so much for asking for opinions. dont know about other models.

First you decide what type of sonic quality you like. Dalis are not for people who love Bass. They are for people who enjoy music to the detail. I think you had auditioned Ikon 6 at vectors. Listen to Zensor 7 as thay have tight bass. Also hear to HECO Metas and Aleva in comparison to ikon 6. If you are very much particular about Bass, Cine Bells at Banjara Hills have MA BR8 being offerred at reasonable price. Have a try at them if they are still available.
