The echo in the room is driving me crazy. There is nothing left to add(I mean furniture) but the echo is too high. I don't have the exact measurements with me right now but if I remember well its 17 x 14. All the walls are painted white. Two walls have two doors (entrance and bathroom). A third wall has two window frames separately. About 3 x 1.5 each size. False ceiling is POP and the gap between the ceiling and the POP is about 2 feet I was told. Floor tiles are vitrified ceramic tiles and are white in colour.

Actually curtains/blinds is one thing that is left to add.

I use my bedroom for watching TV and listening music on the computer. A HT room is not happening but I'd like my room to be very capable for music listening and movie watching.

EDIT > Not going to be installing a 5.1 home theatre in the room at any point. At best I might add an amp and floor standers as an addition to the TV. My computer speakers are Swans M200.

A carpet/rug might help. Vitrified tiles are highly reflective.

Adding thick-ish curtains will also help.

no intention to threadjack..
i am very curios about this simple treatments..watching this thtread..
one thing want to share..
my sub is at one corner of the room.
a wooden wardrobe is just exact opposite of the sub.(not diagnal opposite)
whenever i sit pushing my back at the wardrobe..some uncanny bass i feel by whole body even from the cheap htib sub..so yes these simple tweaks surely help us

Should make a big difference. Add Heavy Drapes, A big Mattress, and a wardrobe full of clothes, and your room will sound totally different :)

Drapes pending there is nothing left to add. The bathroom has a walk in closet partition so the garments, shoes, misc items and stuff go there. Mattress and pillows are already there.

Thanks. I'll try to see if I can get carpeting done. When you mean thickish, can you be more specific like a brand or a line of any company's which I can look for?

^^ If you cant see through them, light can't pass though them easily, and they are relatively heavy, they should do the job. Branded stuff not needed!

As for the floor, a medium/small rug (say 7' x 4') made of natural fiber (cotton is cheap and feels good on the feet, but will cause trouble for people with breathing ailments) would be good enough. Full-on carpeting is not really needed. The rug should be between your listening position and the speakers.

BTW, are the speakers kept on a table that has a glass top? That can cause quite a bit of trouble.

You hit the nail on the head. Yes the computer table is made of glass. It has my computer and speakers on it.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will make those changes and report back.
