Hi

Right now, I'm making do with the default audio rig on my 2010 laura. The sound is actually well above average (for a car system that is) but I want to upgrade the head unit as well as the speakers.

I don't care about sub woofers, cross wiring etc. All I want is a simple (near?) audiophile quality set of head unit and speakers. All the retailers I go to give me ideas for 100K rigs that sound like (pardon the french) cr@p. More suited for "Jhankar Beats" rather than good audio.

Any suggestions will be welcome.

Thanks

Krish

quite a task replacing laura's hu....with skoda's A.S.S! be aware any electrical complications arise they gonna rip you apart!......for my fabia ive already spent 19k while its just 7 months old!......anyway try fiddling with the speakers alone!

Budget? :)

If you are going to get good enough speakers (which will automatically need a good enough amp), the biggest challenge for you will be the head unit. In the case of your car, you'll have to retain it and use an external processor if you want the source to be good enough. (I think you can swap out the HU with something like a Caska, but IMO that will be throwing good money away -- the step up is not worth the money.)

If you use a processor, you will need to send the signal into a good enough amp so the signal can be amplified to drive the speakers. The amp and the processor will need RCA cables and power cables.

If you plan to retain the HU and get speakers without amping them, you may not really get the audiophile-quality sound that you are looking for.

Thanks for your insights... I did realize that changing the HU was going to be a pain in the a$$.

@Hydra, budget would be around 75K for the rig. But based on what Metalmickey and you have shared- I do not think it makes any sense now.

How about this- I just get high quality speakers... as mentioned before, the head unit itself seems to be decent. If it was just quality speakers at a budget of around 30-40K INR, what would you folks suggest?

Thanks in advance

Krish
