Hi Friends,

I am assembling a windows 10 based audio server and in that respect I came across this pretty decent looking tool called "Audiophile Optimizer" what is does is that it strips down the windows operating system so that only 5 to 7 services and about 15 to 20 processes running. Almost 150 unnecessary drivers and services are disabled, resulting in the optimal platform for ultra high-end audio reproduction. More details can be read here ...

Personally I am a Linux guy when is comes to dedicated audio server and prefer the MPD Demon route for the same, but I have read that windows 2012 server r2 and now recently windows 10 gives a very decent performance when it comes to Audio reproduction. An article I found though in Swedish language was an eye opener to read. (of course with translate) check out here

I was somehow inclind and interested to use this product and see if there is any differnce in Audio, even though I do not have a beefy audio gear. The price was a huge let down. 119EURO for a one time license. I think its pretty expensive, given the fact that we are getting windows 10 Home edition for around 112 EUROs.

Anyway I approched the developer and enquired about the price and also mentioned that it has a very very steep price and given the currency difference it would be almost impossible for an avg indian joe to purchase the product. Surprisingly he offered to lower the price IF there is bulk purchase. As low as 60 EURO or even further if more people are interested to purchase.

Hence this thread. Anyone here interested?. If people do not know about the product.I would request to go through the link I provided above. A detailed discription is in the below link ...

And few reviews ...

Highend-AudioPC | Reviews

Computer Audiophile members have nothing but praise for this product, so much so that even though I am a techie and can stirp down an OS myself, I was curious to read and and then try the product myself.

Anyone on HiFi Vision already using this product please do share the feedback and yes as per the objective of this thread I would like to know if anyone is interested to purchase the same so that we can request the developer to lower the price.

How much do you think is worth to pay for such a product. Do you believe it really makes a difference.

Need few inputs from the fellow members here and also how many are interested.....

Regards
Sammy

Hi Sammy,
I would be interested. I have been looking at this, especially the development of the optimizer for win 10, and was contemplating moving to it eventually. 60 euro sounds good.
Cheers,
Sid

You can count me in for a Bulk Order as well. Euro 60 is a great price!
AO is well regarded by almost all who have used it.

You have to realize that the way it works is that it de-features Windows by reducing all Windows processes to the point where you make the machine into an appliance. The biggest proponents are the JPlay folks who prefer to use it in Hibernate mode completely shutting down the GUI interface. The machine is pretty much locked - should be used in dedicated audio machines only.

OK ...cool nice to see, initial response ...... I was again in talks with the developer and he says if we can gather atleast 50 users, he can further decrease the price from even 60 EUROS, so friends spread the word as much as you can and find some audiophile friends, relatives, users so that we can go for this ....... keep the thread alive .....

Also anyone interested to know more about the product also do post and I shall try to provide as much information as I can.....

mmm This sounds interesting, something my techie sense is tickling me to give it a shot .....:) Will start my windows audio server thread soon as well .... keep the info flowing ....... :)

ONE of the "modes" of AO reduces the PC to the level of an appliance if you need it to be one. There are other "modes" in AO that do not get this extreme.

Also take a look at Fidelizer. There's a free version available for it.

Yes I tried Fidelizer as well, but the level of optimization and actual sound improvement that AO users report aint there in Fidelizer

UPDATE :: Talked to developer again ..... There is a 30 upgrade at the end of this year or beginning of next year coming. Which would be free of cost for bulk user purchase ...

I have tried the free version of fidelizer. In my setup, in the extreme setting (I believe it may be called extremist - don't remember) which is the highest setting, I did not notice any meaningful difference.
Cheers,
Sid

Ok so the counter is at 5 .... :) Come one guys we need much more than that ...spread the word ....

Just a re check if we still have people interested. We atleast need to reach a number 50 before we can ask the dev to even consider price drop

Sam couple of questions.

1. It says you need Windows 2012 Server? Will it work with Windows 10?

2. The order page says 'Five Activation-Keys included in one personal AudiophileOptimizer license'. Does it mean it can be installed on 5 different machines, or 5 times on the same machines.

3. This guy is not giving a license for the OS, I assume. So Windows 10 costs have to be added.

Thanks

Yes the recent version has been developed for Win 10 as well. The 5 activation keys are tied to your hardware (motherboard I presume), so you can use these 5 on the same machine and not 5 different machines. He developed a version for Win 10 as the cost of Win2012R2 is very high and lots of people had shown interest in Win 10. But as per the designer I think the Win2012R2 has a better control with services tweaking and all compared to Win10. The license costs for Win2012R2 or Win 10 need to be considered if you are going to use as its not part of the software.

Hi Venkat,

This means the license covers the usage on five different machines as long as they belong to the same person.

One machine (assuming the hardware does not change) always has the same "Hardware-ID", thus requiring the same Activation-Key. So in other words there are "unlimited" activations for the same machine. And this five times!
