Audiophile solution!

There are so many snake oil tweak products that get recommended that it is unbelievable, not to mention their obscene prices. The above example is just simply a stand to support heavy power cables with some exotic plugs (which in itself are suspects), a simple support will suffice, a wood block perhaps which will be cheaper than the lab supports, but no - some company has to invent the most expensive method to do this, and some reviews have to praise it, and some audiofools will buy it.
Cheers,
Sid

My favourite are the crystals :) the ones that come for various frequencies for your audio. Can't remember what the brand was. It is the coolest product ever made ;)

I have realised ever since Modi came to power in 2014, the level of intolerance has increased considerably in the audio forums.. Since audio is subjective, why can't we respect people who can hear substantial difference in sound quality with $780 USD Furutech NCF cable boosters? Why the intolerance?

This is a very disturbing trend of people questioning the well known Leftists/Marxists experts established in/by the audio industry and calling out their bullshit.

Don't get me wrong guys, I have a lot of tweaks in my systems, but the average cost of those is a few $$, nothing like 100's of us$ or let alone thousands. And lot of these tweaks make about 1-2% difference in the sound. If any audio equipment requires tweaks - including stands, supports, Quantum this-or-that etc. etc. costing 100's, 1000's or 10's of 1000's of $, then the unit is broken imo. Just recently I had an audio dealer explaining to me that a particular equipment shelf/support that cost 100's of $ transformed the sound. I politely denied explaining to him that on poured concrete floors like Indian floors, these won't make a major difference other than minor airborne vibrations which won't be audible (that will effect tube equipment mainly), I am happy with my ikea cutting board tweak ($20). There is huge margin in these tweaks, much more than the audio equipment itself (with a lot of mumbo-jumbo thrown in), hence it is marketed heavily. Anyways other day I read that some guy was taking 1- 500 rupee note and using some dye and producing 2 - 3 notes. Seeing this some idiots gave him lakhs of rupees, so compared to that this is much milder. Reminds me of "A fool and his money are soon parted".
All my audio tweaks comments are based on my subjective opinions based on common sense, active listening for 30 years etc. Perhaps I am wrong so please consider my comments as guidance only, I have no interest - financial or other in these things. I am concerned mainly with the return on money spent for audio quality.
Cheers,
Sid

We Indians are so brilliant and so cheap, we’ve invented a word to combine the two. It’s called ‘jugaad’ :)
Here’s my cheap-as-chips blu tack and elastic solution for lifting cables off the floor.
Note: this is not for audiophile reasons; it just makes it easier to sweep and swab!

When you can afford a setup worth crores, you are not worried about the money being spent anymore. But it would be bothersome, not to buy that expensive cable when your trusted dealer says “you need this special magic snakes also to bring the real potential of the expensive speakers you just got”. At this point, it’s sold already. Hifi dealers get the most margin out of cables and tweaks like this than actual devices so they are motivated to push them. Still I don’t know if they really make any difference unless I test them out.

I did the same. Now my cables doesn’t catch dust as much as before and the cleaning robot moves around without getting stuck on them. Sonically I didn’t notice anything different as in the mind I didn’t think this as a hifi tweak when I did it ;)
