Wanted to share this, as it created a tremendous change to my current setup.

My current setup:-
Comp + Asus Xonar Ess STX --> NAD326 + CA Minx21 & X200 - The sub was connected to the amp's preout.

Now---

I bought a Audison Bit One, to actually set it up in my car, as I've fixed the installation for later this week, I was getting anxious to find out how this stuff worked if I plugged it with my Computer and I was in for a big surprise..

Powering up the Audison Bit One -

I got hold of a used SMPS, which I was experimenting on how to make a car amplifier work at home, but the amps rating was low, so did not risk connecting the amplifier (Celestra FA475X) to it. But it worked perfectly to power up the Bit One.

The SMPS is a 400W Zebronics - stripped out all the outputs from the board, soldered an 8ga wire to the 12V and the GND, had to short 2 wires to start the SMPS when power is ON. All this was done with the help of my computer installer. I assume that I can extract 17A @ 12V, as the ratings of the SMPS read so..

Connecting the Audison Bit One:-

I added a 1A fuse and clipped them onto the 12V wire.

The DRC of the BitOne is used to power On/Off the processor. 2Ch input from the computer to the Bitone.

Output: CH1 & CH2 to the NAD amp, CH3 & CH4 directly to SUB.

Insert the CD that comes along with the BitOne into the PC, install all softwares and connect the Bitone to the computer in target mode, reset the processor to factory settings and the setup wizard begins after a restart.

The setup begins with asking u to play track 1 from the CD for the processor to analyse the signal, then details of output are required to be entered, so mine was simple 2Ch's full range & 2Ch's Sub, the wizard was done in 2 mins to setup and the output was up.

All I did so far is tweak the crossovers & set some delay for the speakers based on my listening position

the NAD powering the Minx 21 gets a HPF set at 110Hz / 36db slope
the sub Minx X200 gets a Bandpass HPF 35Hz / 12db --> LPF 125Hz / 24db

and the music output was WOW - the sub feels more controlled and the stereo imaging has improved drastically.

I'll be really satisfied when this goes into my car...

You have put in a lot of effort in getting this to work with your PC....well you will be happy to get this on your car but will you now be happy with the 'reduced' sound quality at home when the Audison is taken away? Maybe time for another component to add?
That's how hi-fi companies keep getting richer at our expense! ;)

Really, well said, every time I buy something, I say I'm not going further, but at the end I keep hunting for what's next and end up spending more. this field is limitless, its the vitamin M required, is driving me nuts.

The Bit One's installed in the car and its not easy tuning it for the car as it was at home, as in the car it is HI-level inputs and a full active setup, integrating the sub perfectly is tricky and matching Hi's to Mid's is also time consuming, every time I fine tune, there's something else missing. Its been a week since the install, but I believe patience will give me the ultimate result.

Thanks for looking...
