benq w 1070 stopped working help please

I have benq w 1070 installed for ht since Jan 2014.
Total use till date @ 800 Hrs , Occasionally used.
yesterday night I was watching a movie through media player. after 15 minutes I stopped the movie from media player. The same time projector also stopped. There was steady red light at power indicator. and no response for any remote function neither from button panel. I disconnected all the connection even reconnect power cord , Nothing helped. whenever I put on the projector the red light at power only and no response for remote or any button on panel.:sad::sad:

Sounds like a ballast unit issue, easily fixable with any projector repair shop.

Ballast unit is responsible for sending power to the lamp. Assuming this is the problem, it should cost you around Rs. 4000 to get fixed.

I have registered complaint with benq support. Lets hope the problem remained to be with ballast and not the lamp

Please suggest a reliable benq projector repair center in Mumbai and Thane Area so that I can personally take the projector there and get checked.

I hope you have got your projector repaired.

In case you are interested, I have some info for you. The DMD chip in your projector is the same as in Optoma 141x projector.

I hope the DMD chip of your projector never fails but if it does, this info will help you source a replacement part.

No developments till date. I live in remote place but used to come Mumbai very frequently. I can take projector mumbai for repair. Please share the details of source as suggested.

When white dots start filling the screen as it is with me because of failing DMD chip, it really is the worst case scenario. If you try to get it repaired from the company, cost will come close to 30000.
Only solution, buy chip from China through online purchase and then get the projector repaired by anyone who knows how to do it.

The chip name is DMD Chip 1910-6039E. It will cost around 10000 if purchased from China. Hope you never need it.

Actually my problem is different. My projector suddenly stopped working and do not turn on only steady red light at power indicator.

Dear friends,

I was out of town last week and could not contact the service centre . Today I opened the lamp compartment and found that the ceramic holder attached to lamp was broken. I am posting the photographs here . The lamp is seen intact with its filaments. Is the lamp has gone?
Please guide.
