Best LED to buy over 50"

I'm looking to buy a large screen LED TV, and would like to get a great quality screen but without spending on useless (for me) features like 3D, wi-fi etc.

I am evaluating the Sony 52NX800 (MRP 1,59,900) and the Samsung 55C6900 (available for 1,83,000). Does anyone have any experience with these TVs, especially viewing SD DVDs, Tata Sky cable etc.?

Any other suggestions for TVs that are worth considering in this space? What is the viewing experience of these compared to a Panasonic plasma?
