im currently using wharf 10.1s with norge 2060... if i get myself a norge 4242 and biamp the speakers will it do any good?

Why would you need a Preamp to separate the Frequencies? Esp. when it concerns TWO Stereo Integrated Amplifiers.

Please Explain this concept that seems new to me.

Well,he hasnt mentioned his source player.If that has separate output for high & low freq,then you can use 2 amps for Biamping, otherwise who will separate those?So a preamp need.

Thanks !!
what does the 2-way crossover inside the Wharf 10.1 do when they get this split up frequencies ??

There is a connector on spk terminal(Wharf) which can be removed.

Doing this we separate both high & low ch which ultimately goes straight to corresponding driver.Still internal CO is partially in action.

Thanks !!

WOW!! I didn't know we need to split the full audio frequency bandwidth into separate Low and High and then send them separately to the Loudspeaker via the power amps, each stereo power amp carrying a LOW and HIGH separately. BTW - what does the 2-way crossover inside the Wharf 10.1 do when they get this split up frequencies ??

oops! - i know!!!:yahoo:

the audio frequency spectrum (full - 5- 35K Hz) is split by upstream electronics into exact downstream bandwidths matching the 2 way crossover of the Wharfies - when the signals get there - the crossover has no work at all! - the signals are let through in a relaxed and marlboro/chardonnay- manner - and the wharfies work much better! - and since the bottleneck is loose and relaxed - lots of current and control over the inherent laxity of the wharfdales!!

spirovious has made a BREAKTHROUGH!!!!!:clapping::clapping::clapping:

The oldies are in a frisky mood today. Lend an ear ..it shall be worthwhile.

@ Oldies the goldies
Can you please explain in brief (*not literally ;)) about how this flow of frequency goes around actually?

Well thanks AE,but I was behind Active CO as spk COfilter can be avoided.
Idea of biamp is to get purest separate freqs even in power/int amp.Simply using 2amps is not that good idea I think.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
