Hello friends,

Just wanted to know if anyone has heard the boston acoustics A26 bookshelves ? They have very good reviews on whathifi and stereophile. Searched but couldn't find any inputs on them so wanted to know how they are and how they compare to other competition .

Thanks

what is it priced at? i think it is their entry level BS, its supposed to be pretty good
maybe there is something better at that range

Thanks. I'm also looking at MA BX2/KEF q300 but that's much higher priced than BA a26 and with it's good reviews, wanted to know if anyone heard them.

Our forum member canchi has written detailed review on KefQ300 speakers. You can search in this forum.

I have a pair of white Boston Acoustic A26's. Got the white ones on discount on Amazon for 200usd/pair. I'm no audiophile, I am new to serious audio. I used my Denon 1513 AVR and my computer - HDMI connection as source. They are without a doubt, solid speakers. Very open with a deep thumping bass. I don't believe avr's or cables make a huge difference to the sound signature, it's a speaker thing mostly(audiophiles be damned). I can tell you that these are neutral sounding speakers.

I have heard Warfedale floor standers before and those are what I would call warm. I actually like warm speakers, but these have a rich sound I can live with. They have all the fullness of true floor standers in the sound department, but they are huge in size for bookshelves mind you.

I can listen to Wharfedale 220 continuously for hours with out getting my ears hurt.....
What about Boston Acoustics A26.....?

And I have Wharfedale 220C as centre ...
Will Boston Acoustics match Wharfedale 220C

Boston Acoustic 26 has the upper midrange (1000-3000 Hz) slightly recessed compared to the high end that starts from > 3500 Hz.
Thus they appear to have the slightly higher sparkle and sizzle compared to Wharfs (and Quad that I have), and the vocals will appear a tad less.
I hear a lot more sssssibilance on BA26 as compared to Wharf or Quad.

The bass is tight and goes decently low (I guess about 50-55Hz).
