Almost every budget brand has a presence in Chennai. Some brands are available with more than one dealer. I suggest, you do some research in the speakers forum on similar threads.

Name some shops- as far as I know only Vipul audiotech at kilpauk- how abt Richie's street but I feel very difficult to identify quality shop

decibel, chittaranjan st
onkyo, off cathedral road near the russian cultural center
profx (i am not sure where the shop is though)

can't remember the names
there is one in kodambakkam
one in t.nagar (usman rd)

What is the specific brand you are looking for?

The one in Kodambakkam is Grand cinema, they deal with wharfedale, paradigm.

Thank u - I will go and hunt these shops- any speaker which is available under 20k to hear Tamil melodies to look for- I plan to buy Norge 4242 or 2060 amplifier

Suggest you to check with Vipul audio for sonodyne speakers, they are VFM. Also, search the forum, you may get tons of suggestions. Please do have a look at hifimart for Boston combo. Do some auditions then decide rather than reviews alone.

If you have decided on Norge, there are some tested combo such as wharfdales with Norge, search the forum for those threads.

I have different proposal- any suggestions-going for 25k range Boston or wharfdale or audio engine or denon speakers and putting lepai t 2020 for short period of time and then replacing tapai with Yamaha amplifiers- is it good or bad idea- if it is good idea which speaker u prefer up to 30 k
