Bryston or Mcintosh Equivalent

We have a client that is looking for a higher end AMP (Bryston or Mcintosh equivalent(new)). Any resellers online? or other ways to get without going to retail store or also looking for an equivalent manufacture at this performance level

Audio Advisor has some Bryston models for sale online.

Music Direct sells a few BAT, Krell, Esoteric, Luxman etc. online too.

These websites only sell a few models though. Not the entire line - from what I have seen.

I know there are a couple of other websites but slipping my mind.

You have a client, somebody that pays you, who is going to source hi-end hifi through you and you don't know where to buy it?

Perhaps your client is paying the wrong person.

Anyway, there's a thing called "google..." that should cover you.

I think a point is being missed !
AVgear appears to be looking for a product that is equivalent to a Bryston etc. to supply to his 'client'. It's either a search for Indian equivalents ( none that I know of !) or a search for clones . Even that is no use in India. Maybe you should have tried China. If they are available here , they would have come from China ! Besides it's highly unlikely that local fans would buy cloned Brystons etc. from China ( even more unlikely if made here !) when many can afford the real ones !

I recall that a few years ago , someone from Coimbatore was making some large amps. I seem to remember Krell ! It was either a clone or close equivalent. Wonder what happened to them. Haven't heard or seen anything about them the last few years. Does anyone from Coimbatore know ?

Truth be told, there is nothing in the forum or website name or description that leads one to believe that this is an India specific forum.

There is a chance that someone, especially a first poster, could have missed this aspect.

I have seen quite a few first posts from people in Europe and USA and elsewhere asking for advice or help.

Having said that, an av consultant should presumably know better?

Absolutely. it probably doesn't take too long to intuit that the forum is India based in terms of membership, but, in a way, this doesn't really matter: the subject matter is international, and, as evidenced by the google results mentioned. HiFiVision can only get bigger and, probably, more international.

That's my point, and the reason for my sharp post. If this guy is getting paid to advise about something he should know about, then let him cut us in on the fee. I see no reason to give free lunches to overseas consultants or dealers. And I don't care if that is rude and unwelcoming.

This is not some obscure, specialist area of hifi.

EDIT: If others feel more generous, then I respect and even admire that. I'm not always the nicest person in the world!

Funny. I looked up Krell in India and OLX came up. One post said wanted amp like Krell etc. Price range Rs10,000/- ! Hmmmm........ Maybe many of us will be be interested to see what that Krell will be like !
