Well, my present desktop is near approaching a decade of service with an

AMD athlon xp 2300
Nvidia Nforce 2 Ultra
2 GB DDR ultra 400 ram
2009 ATI radeon 3650 HD with hdmi AGP 8x GPU
nvidia soundstorm 5.1 Dolby digital live digital out
seagate 80gb IDD HDD
Windows 7 OS running smoothly
19" samsung 940bw with nice white balance for a tn panel.

It's seen many power losses and faced many hardships has always run smoothly without crashes. While it does run everything smoothly, I'm starting to feel its age and the cpu bottlenecking the GPU. I'm going to resume doing freelance design/graphic work with ps and flash etc and this pc lags trying to open large files and the screen is too small.

Originally bulldozer was going to be released this year but theyve pushed it back to 2011.. meaning wont see it properly before 2012. I was really keen on bulldozer as it would have been an entirely new AMD cpu from ground up but its so far away. Does it make sense to upgrade then ? I might even be out of the country to study so im a bit off about that thought. Or should I just let my present pc be. Just invested a lakh in an HT running off the pc via digital coaxial.

I guess I'm just looking for opinions, bit lost in my own thoughts.

I intend on playing games like crysis and the new age games running off the net on a decent native / hd res. What kind of investment would that require in present day. I am also looking for usb 3 is possible.
