Hope 2024 has begun on a good note for all of you! Just wanted to share my experience with my receiver which has suddenly started exhibiting power switching issues (I have had the receiver since 2009, sparingly used due my frequent travels out of country, and still looks like new).
I encountered this issue where the power switches on where we hear the typical power on "click" after which the display turns on. However, in this case, the display remains blank with a single blue dot at the center. AVR cannot be operated during this time. I've seen the issue in the past when this occurred with a power outage, however, upon turning off & on the power supply switch at the unit's back, the issue would usually resolve. Now, it stays on the blue dot for an extended period of time and turns on by itself at which time, it can be operated. However, 20-30 mins into operation, the AVR freezes and cannot be operated. The only way at this point to reset it is to turn off the mains or the power switch. Not really in a situation to buy a new receiver or upgrade at this point, so need your recommendations on how to get this repaired. Could anyone recommend an AVR service specialist in Bangalore where I can get this checked/resolved? I am from Malleshwaram. Thanks for your help!
