Can i use DualShock 3 gaming controller with my blue ray player

I have a doubt , whether i can connect DualShock 3 gaming controller with sony s490 blue ray player for playing games using usb cable.Will i able to play games? im noob on this.

Even though you can connect using the USB cable the blu-ray player does not either recognize the controller or play your game CD's. You can get a PS3 or XBOX for this purpose or a decent gaming PC.

Well playstation 3 is a gaming console and blue ray player is just a blue ray player for movies.
Just because playstation uses blue ray discs as a storage medium for games...doesn't mean a blue ray player can play games.

I am sure u know about computers...n A gaming console is like a powerful computer n has a powerful CPU, GPU, RAM, HD to play these games.

So, in short a blue ray player cannot play any games nor will it detect a ps3 controller.
But yes, a PS3 is much more then a gaming rig...it can do a lot more, apart from gaming.
