Hello Experts,

This is my first post in this forum. So a BIG hello to everyone here!!!

I have decided to buy a Swift Dzire ZXI and with your help am looking to get the best sound quality with a budget of around (50k-75k) that would be available in state of GOA. I normally listen to easy listening and 80's Pop songs genre 90% of the time.

I believe that the Swift Dzire ZXI comes with Nippon head unit, 4 speakers and 2 Tweeters.

When talking to my Dealer he suggested a
  1. JVC 2 DIN video unit or Megaaudio (Will have the same factory fitting - Is this a good system?)
I would use the video mainly for the reverse camera and or navigator, audio quality is very important to me)
  2. 2 sets of components speakers at the front and back
  3. not to go in for a woofer because of my music tastes and the small boot space the new Swift Dzire has
  4. Leave the Inbuilt tweeters untouched
  5. Buy extra needed components Amp, etc...

I saw that in the speakers, amps and other components my dealer was offering me were mainly JBL, Sony or Kenwood and being a newbie in sound systems was wondering if there were better options available. I will be taking a print out your advice to discuss with my dealer. So please include all the components I will need. Approximate prices and model numbers, if provided will be truly appreciated :)

Maruti has a weird policy wherein the sales executives inform me that my warranty will be void if I make any audio changes externally:mad:. It's quite frustrating and I am holding back the booking until I am sure about the audio system I will be adding.

And finally, thanks a lot for all your efforts in advance. Have a nice day!!!

From,
Patrick D'Souza

50-75k is a good budget..

1. There is not many good audiophile grade 2 DIN HU. Try Kenwood 7016 or Pioneer P80RSII.

2. Keep the factory components at back for rear fill. They don't add much value. Try Focal, Gladen Audio, Dynaudio, HAT or PHD component speakers.

3. Go for a good four channel amp from mosconi, Celestra, zapco or Helix

4. Ditch the factory tweeters and go for component set.

20k for speakers, 25-30k for amp, 10-15k for head unit. Use the rest for damping, wiring and install. You can bridge the 4 channel amp and add a sub a FG sub so that it doesn't take space. I did that for my VDi. The FG will cost you 5.5k.

I think you can go for below specs

HU : JVC 2 Din (~20K)
Front Comps : Focal, Rainbow, DynAudio, Rockford Fosgate, DLS, Image Dynamics etc (~20K)
Rear Fills : Coaxials from any reputed brand (preferrably from same company as the fronts) (~6K)
4 Channel Amp : Focal, JBL, Kenwood, Alpine, Rockford Fosgate etc (~ 20K)
Damping : 5k (front doors are a must)
Wiring : 5K

Use the 2 channels of the amp to power the front components.

In future you can add a sub and use the other 2 channels to power the sub in bridged mode.
Good subs can be procured within (6-7)K..if you are looking.

BTW regarding the warranty, every car manufactures insists on this. Don't worry about this coz Maruti doesnt strictly look on these like other car manufactures.

Enjoyy..
